TL;DR
Senior Data Analyst for Lab Production Support, Extended-Hours Support (ExHS) (Data Analytics/Genomics): Providing production-support analytics for diagnostic laboratories by analyzing complex datasets, resolving operational issues, and automating recurring workflows with an accent on statistical analysis, Python and SQL development, and scalable data retrieval. Focus on diagnosing lab production problems, detecting anomalies and trends, improving patient-result turnaround times, and supporting regulated genomics operations during rotating weekend shifts.

Location: US Remote. Weekend Shift team with quarterly rotation between Tuesday–Saturday, 9 AM–5 PM, and Sunday–Thursday, 9 AM–5 PM.

Salary: $130,000–$155,000 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Provide timely data analytics support to laboratory operations, unblock production issues, and improve patient-result turnaround times.
  • Apply statistical techniques, exploratory data analysis, trend analysis, anomaly detection, and root-cause analysis to complex operational datasets.
  • Extract, transform, query, and analyze data to support lab production and business decisions.
  • Design automated solutions for recurring data-analysis and production-support workflows, with a focus on efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with Lab Operations, Product, and other Data Science Production Engineering teams to resolve issues and provide product support.
  • Document analytical processes and train junior team members on technologies, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Operational Research, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant industry experience, including 3 years in data analysis, extraction, querying, and production support.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a highly regulated environment such as CLIA- or FDA-compliant settings.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, data analysis, and statistical techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Snowflake, cloud technologies, diagnostic laboratory processes, and version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab.
  • Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of molecular biology, genetics, genomics, or bioinformatics.
