Mechanical Designer (Mining Equipment)

Location: Onsite in Lively, Ontario, Canada, at 25 Fielding - Hard Rock Canada. Monday-to-Friday shift with up to 10% travel to customer and distributor sites, including international locations.

Annual base compensation: CAD 70,000–85,000.

What you will do

• Design mechanical systems for underground mobile mining equipment and create 3D layouts, drawings, schematics, assemblies, and technical renderings.
• Develop production-ready concepts with multidisciplinary teams across customer engagement, prototyping, validation, manufacturing support, and field implementation.
• Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and simulations to improve product performance, reliability, and safety.
• Support prototype testing, design reviews, continuous improvement, and technical documentation.
• Provide engineering support during capital equipment assembly, commissioning, and field troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, or C.Eng. Tech.
• 1–2 years of relevant work or internship experience is desired.
• Experience with mechanical calculations, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics.
• Experience with mechanical testing equipment and procedures.
• Ability to work onsite in Lively, Ontario, and travel up to 10% to customer sites as required.
