Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright (Manufacturing)

Location: Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. On-site, Monday to Friday with 8-hour shifts, monthly on-call duty, overtime, and occasional weekends or statutory holidays as required.

Salary: CAD 70,000–100,000 annually, plus performance-based incentives where applicable.

What you will do

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility assets, including inspections, lubrication, vibration analysis, thermal inspections, and condition monitoring.
• Diagnose and repair production equipment and plant systems, including gearboxes, pumps, compressors, conveyors, bearings, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, packaging equipment, and production machinery.
• Install, upgrade, modify, level, balance, align, and commission machinery using precision tools; support FAT and SAT activities.
• Interpret manuals, technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications; replace, rebuild, fabricate, or refurbish machine components.
• Perform basic welding, cutting, grinding, fabrication, and machine-guard construction using maintenance tools and shop equipment.
• Support root cause analysis, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, OEE improvement, shutdowns, start-ups, maintenance planning, and collaboration with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Operations.

Requirements

• Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A), or the ability to obtain it within an agreed timeframe.
• At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, power transmission, bearings and lubrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and industrial equipment repair.
• Experience with CMMS systems, technical documentation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and statutory holidays when required.
• Ability to follow OHSA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, risk assessments, PPE requirements, and workplace safety standards.
