Electrical Engineer/Designer (Industrial Automation)

Location: Burlington, Ontario, Canada; willingness to travel 30–50% is required.

Salary: CAD 85,000–100,000 per year, plus benefits, bonuses, and additional extra-hours payments.

What you will do

• Design, develop, analyze, and specify electrical control systems, hardware, safety systems, and related pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Create bidding materials, project scopes, budgets, work plans, and user and system functional specifications.
• Perform risk assessments, technical surveys, inspections, procurement coordination, logistics, and panel fabrication specifications.
• Troubleshoot electrical installations, support commissioning, and prepare project summaries with client approval.
• Coordinate contractors, permits, site requirements, safety compliance, quality, schedules, and construction activities.
• Provide technical guidance and regular mentorship to junior and less experienced designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical education.
• At least 6 years of experience designing electrical control systems.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical design and its interaction with other engineering disciplines.
• Experience with complex independent studies, analyses, technical decisions, long-range objectives, and budgets.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and technical adaptation skills.
• Willingness to travel 30–50%.
