TL;DR
Founding Data Engineer (AI): Building Reducto’s data infrastructure, production pipelines, and trusted data models across product usage, sales, and finance systems with an accent on foundational architecture, reliability, and business-critical metrics. Focus on designing the end-to-end data stack, establishing data quality and lineage standards, and translating cross-functional questions into scalable analytical foundations.

What you will do
- Own ’s core data systems, including Snowflake, Postgres, ClickHouse, data lakes, orchestration, and transformation layers.
- Build and maintain production pipelines that unify product usage, sales, and finance data through APIs, webhooks, and third-party systems.
- Model raw data into clean, documented tables that provide a trusted source of truth across the company.
- Define data reliability standards, including testing, freshness checks, lineage, and ownership of data correctness.
- Partner with Engineering, Finance, Operations, and go-to-market stakeholders on usage data and business metrics.
- Use AI tooling to accelerate development while maintaining a reliable data foundation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of data engineering experience.
- Strong command of SQL, Python, and dbt, plus experience with a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake.
- Experience building and owning production data pipelines end to end.
- Ability to design scalable data foundations and make architecture decisions from first principles.
- Ability to work directly with functional leaders, clarify requirements, explain data systems, and negotiate priorities and tradeoffs.
- Comfort working as the only data hire while balancing foundational architecture with urgent business needs.
Nice to have
- Experience as the first or founding data hire.
- Experience with usage-based pricing, consumption models, or PLG and sales-assisted funnels.
- Hands-on experience with Fivetran, Dagster, Airflow, or similar ETL and orchestration tools.
- Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup.
- Strong interest in AI-assisted development and analytics.
