Head of Fleet Operations (UK)

Location: London, United Kingdom; based in or willing to relocate to London, with in-person work most of the time. The company operates a hybrid working model.

hirify.global is building an AI platform for autonomous driving that enables vehicles to learn from real-world experience and adapt across urban environments.

What you will do

• Lead deployment of UK on-road ADAS testing across London and the wider UK.
• Translate strategic milestones and customer-focused testing goals into tactical operating plans and measurable testing outputs.
• Coordinate Shift Leads and operational teams across two shifts running from 06:30 to 23:30, seven days a week.
• Manage fleet and personnel resources to maximise availability, productivity, and team performance.
• Drive continuous improvement in testing procedures, safety protocols, and operational performance.
• Act as the primary escalation point for incident management and safety-critical decisions while partnering with software, hardware, product, and global Fleet Operations teams.

Requirements

• Proven operational management experience, ideally in automotive testing, technology, or another fast-moving, safety-critical field.
• Experience converting high-level strategy into practical operating plans and managing resources across fleet and personnel.
• Strong people leadership experience with diverse or shift-based teams, including mixed contractor and full-time workforces.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across software, hardware, product, and global operations teams.
• Comfort with ambiguity, rapid change, and on-call responsibility for incident management.
• Five or more years of experience managing large teams, or an advanced degree in management or an equivalent qualification.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ADAS technology and on-road testing requirements.
• Experience working with staffing agencies or managing a blended contractor and full-time workforce.

Hiring process

• Initial recruiter call lasting 30 minutes.
• Managerial and functional competency interviews lasting two hours in total, followed by three hours of operational leadership, systems, and domain-specific interviews.
• Final one-hour mission and values alignment interview.
