Team Manager - Transport

Location: Hemel Hempstead Service Centre, United Kingdom. Full-time on-site role working a 4-on, 4-off day shift from 08:00 to 20:00, averaging 40.25 hours per week.

Salary: £17.64 per hour, approximately £37,000 per annum, plus applicable shift premium and 11% London Weighting.

What you will do

• Manage, train, and coach LGV and van drivers.
• Organise shifts and ensure operational efficiency targets are achieved.
• Manage driver hours and control tachograph infringements.
• Ensure compliance with statutory road transport legislation, O-licence requirements, health and safety standards, and company procedures.
• Create daily and weekly plans, monitor performance, and manage changing priorities.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement recommendations.

Requirements

• Proven people management experience in a busy transport function.
• Solid knowledge of road transport legislation, O-licence requirements, and driver hours.
• Experience managing transport operations and leading driver teams.
• Ability to work independently, make sound operational decisions, and perform effectively under pressure.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and find practical operational solutions.
