Senior AI Engineer

Location: Remote throughout the United States, or from the Manhattan, New York office. Hiring is not available in Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, or South Carolina.

Salary: $140,000–$155,000 per year, plus eligible incentive, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Identify high-impact opportunities to improve software development with AI in partnership with engineering teams.
• Design, build, deploy, and operate production-grade AI tooling and agentic workflows from discovery through iteration.
• Develop AI-assisted workflows for code review, testing, validation, issue triage, crash triage, and development automation.
• Build shared infrastructure for model access, vendor integrations, usage observability, and cost controls.
• Create evaluation frameworks, monitoring, and feedback loops to measure reliability, adoption, productivity, and software quality.
• Develop reusable skills, plugins, integrations, and engineering patterns while partnering with Security, Platform, Quality Engineering, Product, and Design.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend and full-stack fundamentals.
• Experience designing and operating complex production systems.
• Professional experience building, deploying, and supporting AI-powered systems or agentic workflows after launch.
• Practical depth in LLMs, tool use, agentic workflows, retrieval, and evaluations.
• Ability to make technical tradeoffs, work independently through ambiguity, and drive solutions through adoption.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across backend, web, and mobile engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in developer tooling, developer experience, or platform enablement.
• Direct iOS or Android experience.
