Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; hybrid Flex Work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field.

Annual base salary: CAD 168,000–252,000, depending on work location, experience, skills, duties, and business need. The role may also be eligible for bonuses and annual refresh stock grants.

What you will do

• Build and evolve an AI-driven contract management platform that helps legal and business teams manage contracts.
• Collaborate with engineering, data science, product management, and design teams on product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Own multiple functional areas across the full lifecycle, from development through production operations.
• Design and deliver scalable, user-focused solutions for complex business workflows.
• Mentor teammates, share knowledge, and contribute to strong engineering practices.

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 8+ years of experience with web development frameworks such as Flask, Django, FastAPI, NestJS, Spring Boot, Ruby on Rails, or ASP.NET.
• 8+ years of experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, or AWS DynamoDB.
• 5+ years leading the design or architecture of reliable and scalable systems.
• Experience with SaaS products, cloud environments, distributed systems, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, plus familiarity with Elasticsearch and strong cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• AWS experience.
• Exposure to Java and TypeScript.
• Experience working in fast-paced agile environments.
