Supervisor, International Trade Compliance and Transportation

Location: Middletown, Pennsylvania, United States; hybrid schedule requiring 3 days in the office

What you will do

• Lead and develop the international trade compliance and transportation team, including performance reviews, mentoring, training, and staffing support.
• Oversee HTS classification, ECCN requirements, import/export processes, transportation reporting, and internal compliance controls.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers, warehouse operations, accounting, corporate headquarters, and internal stakeholders.
• Resolve customs clearance questions, support post-entry adjustments, maintain trade records, and prepare required import/export documentation.
• Audit import entries and export transactions, reconcile broker charges, and validate invoices, duties, fees, and surcharges.
• Support carrier selection, contract negotiations, carrier performance management, and continuous transportation process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, international business, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
• 15 or more years of relevant experience preferred, including demonstrated ability to lead others.
• Advanced knowledge of international trade regulations, customs compliance, C-TPAT Security and Trade Compliance, ECCN and HTS classification, and Incoterms.
• Refined knowledge of international transportation systems, with experience in global trade management, transportation management, or ERP systems preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, leadership, multitasking, prioritization, problem-solving, and Microsoft Office skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English, willingness to travel internationally, and availability to work overtime as needed.

Nice to have

• MBA or another relevant advanced degree.
• Professional certification in international trade, customs compliance, or supply chain management.
• Customs brokerage license.
• Knowledge of hirify.global global operations.
