I-Trade Customs Compliance Operations Planner (Global Trade & Customs)

What you will do

• Manage and support cross-regional import and export shipments while ensuring compliance with customs and international trade requirements.
• Perform and validate tariff classifications, Harmonized System codes, customs valuation, and Country of Origin determinations.
• Assess Free Trade Agreement eligibility and special customs programs to identify duty optimization and cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare, review, and validate customs clearance and international transportation documentation.
• Partner with customs brokers, freight forwarders, government agencies, and internal Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, and Procurement stakeholders.
• Resolve clearance delays and documentation discrepancies while improving trade processes and reducing duties, freight costs, detention, and demurrage charges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional experience in Global Trade, Customs Compliance, Import/Export Operations, or International Logistics.
• Practical knowledge of tariff classification, HS codes, customs valuation, Country of Origin determination, and Free Trade Agreements.
• Understanding of customs regulations, import/export compliance requirements, Incoterms, and customs clearance documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, attention-to-detail, and accuracy skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in a multinational or regional supply chain environment across multiple countries or regions.
• Knowledge of bonded operations, duty drawback, special customs programs, customs audits, and duty-saving mechanisms.
• Experience with customs brokers, freight forwarders, government authorities, ERP, trade compliance, or logistics management systems.
• Experience with process improvement, standardization, or automation initiatives in Global Trade or Logistics.
