Principal System Engineering (Cloud Platforms)

Location: United States; office presence required at least 5 days per week. The role is available only at the posted locations, and no relocation is offered. Employer sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

What you will do

• Act as the senior technical leader and platform steward for critical enterprise platforms and cloud services.
• Define platform strategy, architecture alignment, modernization roadmaps, engineering standards, and governance models.
• Lead Kafka and IXBUS platform capabilities for event-driven architectures, real-time data exchange, and enterprise integration.
• Own reliability, scalability, resiliency, observability, lifecycle planning, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
• Drive CI/CD governance, infrastructure automation, deployment maturity, monitoring, alerting, logging, and operational excellence.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives, incident escalation, root-cause analysis, compliance work, and mentoring for senior engineers and technical leads.

Requirements

• Deep experience designing, operating, and governing enterprise-scale platforms and cloud infrastructure.
• At least 7 years of experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure services, platform engineering, and cloud governance.
• Experience with containers, orchestration platforms, microservices, cloud-native deployments, CI/CD, release automation, and infrastructure automation.
• Strong knowledge of observability, monitoring, logging, security controls, access governance, role-based access management, compliance, and audit readiness.
• Experience leading platform upgrades, migrations, lifecycle management, disaster recovery, resiliency improvements, troubleshooting, and operational readiness.
• Strategic judgment, executive communication, stakeholder management, influence across teams, mentoring ability, and strong ownership of reliability and business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Enterprise platform modernization or transformation leadership experience.
• Experience with AI or intelligent automation for support operations, engineering productivity, or customer experience.
• Experience with compliance programs, cybersecurity scorecards, audit preparation, and remediation tracking.
• Experience with vendor relationships, licensing strategy, service contracts, executive dashboards, or matrixed organizations.
