Cloud Engineer - Database (AI/ML)

Location: USA; Miami, FL. Scope: Global. Travel: Less than 10%.

What you will do

• Provision, configure, and manage relational and non-relational cloud database services across AWS and Azure, including Azure SQL Database.
• Design, implement, and test high-availability and disaster recovery configurations for production databases.
• Monitor database performance and resolve bottlenecks through query tuning, index optimization, and AI/ML-supported analysis.
• Enforce encryption, access control, audit logging, backup, restoration, and point-in-time recovery standards.
• Collaborate with application, cloud engineering, and architecture teams on schema design, capacity planning, and migrations.
• Maintain database runbooks and standards, evaluate emerging technologies, and coach infrastructure colleagues on Active Directory and vulnerability remediation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of enterprise database administration experience.
• 8+ years of Windows system administration experience.
• 3+ years of Microsoft SQL Server experience and 3+ years designing and testing production HA/DR configurations.
• Proficiency with Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud database infrastructure is required.
• Experience applying AI/ML tools to database performance optimization, anomaly detection, or query analysis is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; strong hands-on Azure SQL Database experience.
