Senior/Staff DevOps Engineer (AI Platform Infrastructure)

Location: Seattle, WA, United States. Up to 20% travel may be required.

Salary: $180,000–$240,000 per year, plus bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Architect, build, and operate secure infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, private cloud, hybrid cloud, on-premises, and customer-controlled environments.
• Containerize and package application services with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Kustomize.
• Create reusable infrastructure-as-code modules and deployment workflows with Terraform, Pulumi, or comparable tools.
• Design portable deployment patterns for restricted networks, limited or no egress, approved registries, data residency requirements, and customer-owned cloud accounts.
• Build CI/CD and GitOps workflows covering release orchestration, environment promotion, upgrades, rollbacks, and version compatibility.
• Operate observability across metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, and SLOs, while troubleshooting application, cluster, network, and infrastructure failures.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software, platform, infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps engineering experience owning production systems.
• Deep hands-on experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and production cluster operations.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, Pulumi, or comparable tooling, including reusable modules, state management, testing, and change review.
• Hands-on experience with at least two of AWS, Azure, and GCP, plus working knowledge of compute, networking, storage, identity, and managed services across all three.
• Experience operating software in customer-controlled, private-cloud, hybrid-cloud, or on-premises environments, including adapting cloud-native SaaS products to these models.
• Strong automation and software engineering skills in Python, Go, TypeScript, or a similar language, with experience in networking, security, CI/CD or GitOps, observability, and production reliability.

Nice to have

• Experience with restricted-network, disconnected, regulated, or security-sensitive environments.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST, FedRAMP, or related government requirements.
• Experience with service mesh, policy as code, admission controls, software supply-chain security, artifact signing, or software bills of materials.
• Experience with Crossplane, CNCF projects, stateful or data-intensive workloads, AI/ML or GPU-enabled systems, or customer-facing engineering.
