Lead Application Architect (Cloud)

What you will do

• Lead application architecture strategy, governance, reviews, and standards across enterprise modernization initiatives.
• Design scalable cloud-native architectures using open-source technologies, microservices, APIs, messaging, and event-driven integration patterns.
• Guide the modernization of legacy and on-premises systems into distributed, cloud-native platforms.
• Support AI/ML model integration, deployment, operationalization, and large-scale data processing workflows.
• Align architectures with enterprise data governance, lifecycle management, security, compliance, scalability, resiliency, and observability requirements.
• Coordinate architecture across contractors, engineering teams, architects, security specialists, and stakeholders while mentoring developers and architects.

Requirements

• US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance are required.
• 15+ years of experience in application architecture, software engineering, or enterprise modernization.
• Experience leading architecture for large-scale distributed systems and modernizing legacy or COTS systems.
• Strong experience with cloud-native architecture, APIs, event-driven systems, messaging, distributed integrations, and enterprise data platforms.
• Experience with AI/ML-enabled systems, ETL workflows, DevSecOps, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and high-availability engineering.
• Experience working in SAFe or scaled Agile environments and coordinating multi-team, multi-contractor delivery organizations.

Nice to have

• AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Professional Solutions Architect certification.
• CCSP or a similar cloud security certification.
• DevOps or DevSecOps certifications.
• Experience with federal modernization programs, event streaming, real-time processing, or enterprise analytics platforms.
