TL;DR
Construction Program Manager (Energy Infrastructure): Leading federal Bid Build and Design Build construction projects that deliver energy resiliency, distributed energy resources, and mission reliability with an accent on project execution, subcontractor coordination, safety, quality, and cost control. Focus on managing complex facility infrastructure construction, integrating power generation, BESS, photovoltaic, microgrid, and energy efficiency systems, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget.

Location: United States — Columbia, Maryland or Knoxville, Tennessee; travel as needed to support construction operations.

Base salary: $134,000–$194,000 per year, plus benefits and potential performance incentives.

What you will do

  • Lead administrative and technical end-to-end management of federal Bid Build and Design Build energy resiliency and mission reliability projects.
  • Coordinate engineering, construction, vendors, and subcontractors across design, estimating, scheduling, installation, commissioning, startup, operations, and maintenance.
  • Manage project teams, resources, expenditures, job cost accounting, documentation, approvals, and payment reporting.
  • Ensure project delivery meets safety, quality, schedule, budget, and customer requirements.
  • Evaluate energy technologies and equipment and recommend suitable solutions for each application.
  • Provide project reporting, technical support, senior-management updates, business development support, and collaboration across project phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and relevant experience.
  • At least 7 years of construction management experience, including 5 years on federal projects involving industrial power, electrical or solar, mechanical, engineering construction, facility infrastructure, renovations, retrofits, upgrades, building controls, automation, or energy services.
  • Ability to review confidential US Security Information.
  • Experience with OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems, engineering, project management regulations, practices, and codes.
  • Strong project, staff, priority, communication, presentation, and business relationship management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.

Nice to have

  • Experience with power generation systems, BESS, photovoltaic systems, microgrid controls, direct digital energy controls, variable frequency drives, high-efficiency motors, central plant chillers and boilers, lighting retrofits, renewable energy technologies, warranty, and service requirements.
