Senior Project Manager - Payments

Location: Minnetonka, Minnesota, United States; office workplace

Salary: $102,000–$208,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic payments programs, including product launches, platform migrations, FinTech integrations, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Develop project plans, RAID logs, status dashboards, budgets, resource plans, and vendor contracts.
• Drive execution through Agile, hybrid, Waterfall, or iterative delivery frameworks suited to payments complexity and compliance requirements.
• Apply expertise in Visa, Mastercard, American Express, ACH, RTP, FedNow, SWIFT, and emerging real-time payment networks.
• Coordinate Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Finance, external partners, and vendors through steering committees and executive readouts.
• Improve payments PMO standards, governance frameworks, playbooks, post-mortems, and knowledge-sharing practices while mentoring junior project managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 7+ years of project or program management experience, including at least 5+ years in payments, fintech, or financial services.
• 5+ years of experience with project management tools such as Jira, Monday.com, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle methodologies, including Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile/Scrum.
• Ability to explain project risks, issues, and technology concepts clearly to peers, leadership, and business partners.
• Experience leading large, cross-functional information technology programs and projects.

Nice to have

• Experience with portfolio project management tools and project schedules in MS Excel or MS Project.
• Knowledge of payments security, fraud mitigation, tokenization, authentication, 3DS, biometrics, PCI-DSS, Reg E, PSD2, and NACHA Operating Rules.
• Strong business and technology aptitude, analytical and decision-making skills, and experience managing ambiguity and change.
