Information Systems Security Engineer Level 3 (Government)

Location: Columbia, Maryland, United States; onsite five days per week. No relocation is offered.

Salary: $118,700–$243,300 yearly.

What you will do

• Perform and review technical security assessments of computing environments, identify vulnerabilities and non-compliance, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Guide security engineers and support the secure design, development, implementation, evaluation, and integration of networking, computing, and enclave environments.
• Architect, implement, support, and evaluate security-focused tools and services, including vulnerability testing and continuous monitoring solutions.
• Provide software vulnerability remediation advice and test products in laboratory environments.
• Review certification and accreditation documentation and develop test cases for information assurance controls.
• Interact with customers, IT staff, and corporate leadership while contributing to security policies, procedures, and new intellectual property.

Requirements

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
• DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level 2 required.
• Twenty years of ISSE experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; a master's degree may substitute for two years, and four additional years of ISSE experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related discipline, unless substituted according to the stated experience provisions.
• Knowledge of NIST 800-53 controls, incident response, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VLANs, routing, virtualization, SIEM technologies such as Splunk, malware handling, PKI, multifactor authentication, and entitlement management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Linux, plus strong written, verbal, leadership, and teamwork skills.
