Network Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Fully onsite in Irvine, California, United States

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Administer and monitor security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, mail gateways, data loss prevention, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, SIEM, identity governance, SSO, PKI, and privileged account management.
• Perform security alert, malware, packet, host, and network forensic analysis.
• Contain, eradicate, and recover from security incidents, including after-hours on-call support and ad hoc incident resolution.
• Lead security investigations, initiatives, and projects while identifying control deficiencies and defining mitigation steps.
• Implement new security technologies and controls, maintain technical safeguards, and support compliance with banking regulations and industry standards.
• Partner with technology departments and develop procedures, training materials, and architectural documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in information security is preferred.
• 4–7 years of experience managing security tools and programs required.
• Experience managing security solutions in enterprise environments.
• Advanced knowledge of client and server architecture, operating systems, security applications, Active Directory, firewalls, IDS/IPS, routers, switches, and physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of defense in depth, security controls, networking, attack methods, emerging technologies, and mitigation techniques.
• GSEC, GCIH, CHFI, CompTIA Security+, CSA+, or equivalent certification; GIAC and CompTIA certifications with two or more years of experience are preferred.
