Director, Global Trade Compliance (Life Sciences)

Location: USA - Remote. Remote work is available from the employee's home, with up to 20% domestic and international travel.

Annual salary: $190,000–$220,000, plus eligible bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead and continuously improve the global trade compliance program in line with hirify.global standards and international regulations.
• Serve as the primary trade compliance subject matter expert for Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, Tax, Transfer Pricing, Procurement, R&D, Operations, and Commercial functions.
• Oversee customs valuation, tariff classification, country of origin, free trade agreements, customs broker management, post-entry activities, and duty optimization.
• Develop origin strategies, tariff mitigation programs, and trade planning initiatives with Supply Chain, R&D, Sourcing, and Operations.
• Lead compliance risk assessments, audits, monitoring, internal controls, corrective actions, and management reporting.
• Drive trade compliance transformation through technology, automation, analytics, data governance, and improved recordkeeping.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain, Law, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of progressive global trade compliance experience in multinational manufacturing.
• 12+ years of experience with customs valuation, tariff classification, country of origin, free trade agreements, export controls, sanctions, and other international trade regulations.
• Experience leading mature global trade compliance programs, including governance, policies, internal controls, audits, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with customs valuation methodologies, transfer pricing alignment, origin strategies, tariff mitigation, and trade planning.
• Experience in diagnostics, medical devices, life sciences, healthcare technology, or another highly regulated industry, including trade compliance technology and digital transformation.
