Lead Maintenance Technician (PLC/Automation)

Location: US - IN US8 Midwest Distribution Center; onsite work in a distribution-center environment.

Salary: $25.82–$32.26 per hour

What you will do

• Diagnose PLC-controlled equipment, automation systems, communication networks, VFDs, servos, HMIs, sensors, and safety circuits.
• Repair complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and material-handling equipment using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, identify recurring failures, and recommend corrective actions that improve reliability and equipment availability.
• Coordinate troubleshooting activities, delegate assignments, provide technical direction, and train maintenance technicians.
• Document repairs, work orders, parts usage, shift handoffs, root-cause findings, commissioning activities, and reliability improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 4 years of industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or automated material-handling maintenance experience.
• Hands-on experience connecting to PLC-controlled equipment and diagnosing PLC logic, I/O, sensors, drives, networks, and related controls.
• Experience with technical direction, work delegation, on-the-job training, and major breakdown response.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, equipment drawings, technical manuals, and diagnostic information.
• Current safety qualifications required for assigned work, including applicable lockout/tagout, powered industrial equipment, fall protection, or electrical safety training.

Nice to have

• Associate degree, apprenticeship, or formal technical training in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, automation, mechatronics, or a related field.
• PLC/controls, industrial electrical, automation, mechatronics, or manufacturer-specific certification.
• Experience with PLC, controls, and automation platforms used at the facility.
