Principal Project Manager - Engineering (Energy & Oil & Gas): Leading full-lifecycle engineering delivery for large midstream, downstream, petrochemical, and energy projects with an accent on multidisciplinary leadership, EPC execution, process safety, and commissioning. Focus on managing conceptual design through startup, coordinating construction and vendor interfaces, and resolving complex technical, cost, schedule, and quality challenges.

What you will do
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across process, mechanical, electrical, civil/structural, and instrumentation and controls disciplines.
- Manage engineering execution from conceptual design and FEED through detailed engineering, construction support, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup.
- Establish engineering execution plans, design standards, schedules, and deliverables aligned with project objectives.
- Coordinate with project management, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations, clients, licensors, OEMs, and external engineering partners.
- Support equipment selection, vendor evaluations, technical bid reviews, contractor oversight, field engineering, RFIs, redlines, and as-built documentation.
- Lead technical reviews, risk mitigation, change management, HAZOPs, PHA studies, constructability reviews, and readiness reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical field; extensive relevant experience may be considered for related disciplines.
- At least 15 years of progressive engineering experience in industrial or heavy manufacturing environments, with 20+ years typical for the role.
- Experience managing engineering teams on large-scale capital projects; projects of $500 million or more are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of EPC execution models and stage-gated project development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects through execution and commissioning.
- Knowledge of process safety, mechanical integrity, industrial safety, and applicable ASME, NFPA, OSHA, IEC, and API standards.
Nice to have
- Current Professional Engineer license in good standing.
- Experience with international vendors and global engineering teams.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling, model-based reviews, document control platforms, AFE development, cost control, scheduling, Primavera P6, or MS Project.
