In-House Technology Counsel

Location: Hybrid role based at the corporate headquarters in Bloomington, Illinois, United States; significant time in the Bloomington office is expected. Applicants must be eligible to work lawfully in the U.S. immediately. Relocation benefits may be available depending on eligibility and position.

Salary: $137,000–$215,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Advise the Enterprise Technology Department and other business areas on technology service transactions and vendor relationships.
• Draft and negotiate technology agreements for generative AI services and development, SaaS, PaaS, consulting, staff augmentation, and outsourcing.
• Address privacy, data security, data licensing, and intellectual property ownership and licensing issues.
• Serve as a strategic legal partner by advising on the allocation of business and legal risks.
• Provide preventative legal advice and anticipate clients' needs in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active law license in at least one state and good standing with the bar; ability to obtain an Illinois limited in-house license if needed.
• At least 3 years of transactional experience, preferably involving technology and artificial intelligence.
• Ability to draft and negotiate technology-related agreements and prioritize work under pressure.
• Commitment to high-quality legal advice, learning agility, proactive client support, and effective teamwork.
• Immediate eligibility to work lawfully in the United States is required; hirify.global will not sponsor U.S. work authorization.
