Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: East Cleveland, Ohio; candidates must reside within the listed Cleveland-area ZIP codes and service the assigned territory. This is a remote-field role involving work from home, a mobile office or vehicle, and regular in-person property inspections, with occasional travel to other territories.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assessments of residential and commercial property damage.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Gather evidence, document findings, prepare detailed reports, and evaluate coverage and policy terms.
• Collaborate with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders to resolve claims and provide customer service.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits while following policy provisions, industry standards, and company guidelines.
• Work flexible schedules, including overtime or irregular hours when business needs require.

Requirements

• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, interpret policies, and make well-supported decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and customer-service skills.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools for documenting claims in the field and remotely.
• Physical agility to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, navigate roofs, and crawl in tight spaces.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Successful completion of required training, proficiency and licensing exams, motor vehicle record checks, background checks, and pre-employment assessments.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent property claims experience.
• Knowledge of property insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling practices.
• Knowledge of residential and commercial building construction.
• Water mitigation inspection experience.
• Experience with Xactimate and XactContents.
