Environment Health and Safety Intern

What you will do

• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of an Environmental Health and Safety Management System.
• Develop and deploy programs to prevent and control environmental risks, including air permits, construction permits, hazardous and solid waste, wastewater, release notifications, and regulatory reporting.
• Conduct site-wide environmental, health, and safety audits; analyze results, recommend corrective actions, communicate findings, and follow up through completion.
• Support air permit compliance activities, including records, calculations, inspections, emissions reporting, deviation management, change management, and employee training.
• Participate in wastewater operations and maintain compliance records and timely reports for municipal and state agencies.
• Review operations and facilities projects for compliance with environmental, air pollution control, stormwater, RCRA, and construction permitting requirements.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Environmental Science, Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and maintain flexibility.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Some positions may require the ability to obtain a security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
• Employment includes applicable background checks, drug testing, and E-Verify procedures where permitted by law.

Nice to have

• Experience preparing Tier II, TRI/Form R, NPDES wastewater and stormwater, and hazardous or residual waste reports.
• FE, ASP, or APE credentials.
• Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
