Onsite Waste Coordinator (Hazardous Waste)

What you will do

• Oversee the handling, storage, labeling, segregation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in a petrochemical or refinery environment.
• Inspect Satellite Accumulation Areas and 90-day storage areas, correct deficiencies, and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and review hazardous waste manifests, Bills of Lading, Land Disposal Restriction documentation, waste profiles, and disposal approvals.
• Coordinate shipments, pickups, container swaps, transporters, vendors, and waste tracking from cradle to grave.
• Support cleanouts, spills, high-volume events, incident investigations, environmental audits, and waste reduction initiatives.
• Train site personnel on waste handling, labeling, emergency procedures, minimization, and segregation.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in the waste disposal industry.
• Strong understanding of RCRA, DOT hazardous materials regulations, waste codes, manifests, LDRs, and waste profiling.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Sampling, labeling, material handling, overpacking, and the ability to lift or move 50 pounds or more regularly.
• Ability to pass a respirator fit test and obtain or hold forklift certification within the first 90 days.
• Microsoft Office proficiency and effective communication with operations teams, vendors, transporters, and compliance personnel.

• Lab packing experience.
• Backhoe and skid steer experience.
