Privacy Technologist (AI/Advertising)

Location: United States of America; flexible hybrid work with occasional in-person events or team sessions.

Salary: $129,210–$281,305 per year, with potential discretionary annual bonus or commissions.

What you will do

• Lead technical privacy reviews from architecture and data-flow discovery through launch readiness and post-launch validation.
• Map data flows across web, mobile, connected TV, advertising platforms, APIs, SDKs, cloud services, data pipelines, and third-party integrations.
• Translate legal, policy, and product requirements into technical controls, acceptance criteria, engineering guidance, and reusable implementation patterns.
• Design and assess controls for consent, preferences, data minimization, retention, deletion, access, sharing, de-identification, and user-rights workflows.
• Investigate and validate privacy controls using documentation, logs, SQL queries, network traces, and configuration reviews, driving remediation to completion.
• Assess advertising, identity, AI/ML, privacy-enhancing, and automation technologies, including clean rooms, differential privacy, RAG pipelines, and continuous validation workflows.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in privacy engineering, privacy technology, security engineering, data governance, advertising technology, or a related technical field involving complex data systems.
• Ability to review system architectures, trace end-to-end data flows, identify privacy risks, and recommend practical technical mitigations.
• Working knowledge of web, mobile, API, cloud, and data-platform architectures, including cookies, local storage, mobile identifiers, SDKs, event pipelines, and data warehouses.
• Hands-on experience investigating data and system behavior with SQL and technical tools; scripting with Python, JavaScript, or a comparable language.
• Experience designing or validating controls for consent, user preferences, minimization, retention, deletion, access, data sharing, and de-identification.
• Experience assessing AI/ML architectures, including RAG data minimization, vector database access controls, training-data governance, and model evaluation.

Nice to have

• Experience with programmatic advertising, OpenRTB, DSPs, SSPs, identity graphs, clean rooms, or cross-device measurement.
• Knowledge of NIST Privacy Framework, NIST PRAM, LINDDUN, ISO 31700, or related privacy risk methods.
• Experience with privacy-enhancing technologies, de-identification, re-identification risk, security architecture, or technical standards organizations.
• CIPT, CDPSE, CIPP/US, CIPP/E, cloud, security, or comparable certification.
