Sr. Principal AI Security Architect

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $156,370–$273,600 USD base pay annually.

What you will do

• Define and evolve the enterprise AI security architecture strategy, principles, guardrails, standards, and long-term roadmaps.
• Lead security architecture for complex AI initiatives involving AI platforms, agents, cloud-native services, data integrations, and emerging technologies.
• Develop reusable security patterns and reference architectures for AI agents, digital coworkers, identity and authorization, orchestration platforms, RAG, MCP, AI gateways, observability, and model governance.
• Guide architecture reviews, technical decisions, technology evaluations, and secure solution design across multiple initiatives.
• Partner with Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Identity and Access Management, Application Security, Data Protection, Cloud Engineering, and Emerging Technology teams.
• Mentor architects, lead technical working groups, and advise senior leaders and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in security architecture, enterprise architecture, cloud architecture, software engineering, or related disciplines.
• Extensive experience defining enterprise technology strategies, architecture standards, reference architectures, and governance processes.
• Deep expertise in identity and access management, enterprise security architecture, cloud security, application security, API security, data protection, DevSecOps, and security monitoring.
• Experience leading architecture design for large-scale enterprise platforms or transformation programs and influencing technical direction across complex organizations.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• U.S. work authorization is required; employment-based visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience designing security architectures for generative AI, agentic AI, or advanced automation platforms.
• Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks, agent identity models, enterprise RAG, AI governance, runtime security controls, AI gateways, and model lifecycle governance.
• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
• Cloud, security, or architecture-related certifications.
