Principal AI Security Architect

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $130,530–$221,920 USD annual base pay.

What you will do

• Lead security architecture for AI, agentic AI, cloud, SaaS, and emerging technology initiatives.
• Review complex solution designs, identify security requirements and architectural risks, and conduct threat modeling and security design reviews.
• Create solution, data-flow, and trust-boundary diagrams, reference architectures, security patterns, design standards, and control requirements.
• Define security patterns for AI agents, digital coworkers, RAG architectures, MCP integrations, AI identities, delegated authorization, access control, governance, and monitoring.
• Build reusable AI security reference architectures, architectural decision records, standards, and implementation guidance.
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture, security engineering, identity, application security, data protection, cloud engineering, security operations, and emerging technology teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in security architecture, enterprise architecture, cloud architecture, engineering, or related disciplines.
• Experience designing and reviewing complex enterprise technology solutions.
• Strong knowledge of identity and access management, authentication and authorization, cloud security, application security, network security, API security, data protection, logging and monitoring, and secrets management.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud platforms.
• Ability to produce architecture diagrams and technical design documentation and facilitate architecture reviews.
• U.S. work authorization is required; employment-based visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with generative AI, LLM applications, AI agents, or agentic AI architectures.
• Familiarity with RAG, MCP, AI gateways, AI observability, model governance, agent identity, delegated authorization, prompt security, and AI threat modeling.
• Experience developing enterprise standards, architecture patterns, or reference architectures.
• Experience in a regulated financial services environment.
• Relevant cloud, security, or architecture certifications.
