Senior ASIC Emulation Engineer

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; office-based employees are expected to work from the office four days per week and may work remotely one day per week.

What you will do

• Architect, bring up, and maintain enterprise-scale hardware emulation platforms and hybrid co-emulation or virtual prototyping systems.
• Define pre-silicon emulation plans and execution timelines with ASIC architecture, design, verification, software, and firmware teams.
• Compile, synthesize, and fit multi-million- and billion-gate SoC designs while optimizing power, timing, and platform capacity.
• Develop transactors, rate adapters, speed adapters, and virtual interfaces using C/C++, SystemC, and DPI.
• Enable pre-silicon software and operating-system driver bring-up through workloads, benchmarks, and regression suites.
• Debug hardware, firmware, and protocol failures and automate build, deployment, triage, and regression flows.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in hardware emulation, FPGA prototyping, and ASIC verification, including shipping complex SoCs to production.
• Expertise with Cadence Palladium, Synopsys ZeBu, or Siemens Veloce.
• Strong mastery of SystemVerilog, Verilog, C/C++, UVM, and DPI interfaces.
• Experience with emulation debug tools, transactors, speed adapters, and interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, DDR, or CXL.
• Advanced Python, Tcl, Perl, and UNIX shell scripting skills for compilation, regression, and build automation.

Nice to have

• Experience with network hardware security architectures, high-speed Ethernet, or packet-processing pipelines.
• Familiarity with hybrid emulation, virtual platforms, SystemC, TLM2.0, or QEMU integration.
• Background in driver development, OS kernel boot processes, firmware debugging, power estimation, or thermal analysis.
• Cross-functional leadership, vendor management, and strong communication skills.
