Employment Counsel (Legal): Advising HR and business leaders on employment law and employee relations with an accent on risk management and operational goals. Focus on managing employment-related claims, overseeing complex investigations, and updating workplace policies across North America.

Location: Hybrid: Minimum 1-day per week at hirify.global's North America Headquarters in Costa Mesa, CA

Salary: $153,075 - $275,535

What you will do

• Advise HR and business leaders on employment law, performance management, accommodations, and workplace conduct.
• Oversee complex employee relations investigations and develop defensible record-building strategies.
• Manage employment-related claims, agency charges, demand letters, and litigation in coordination with outside counsel.
• Draft and update employment policies, handbooks, and manager guidance to ensure federal, state, and local compliance.
• Monitor North American legal developments to translate changes into scalable guidance and training.
• Deliver practical training for HR and people leaders on employment law and respectful workplace conduct.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar membership (California bar preferred).
• 7+ years of employment law experience, combining law firm and in-house experience.
• Background in employment litigation, agency charges, workplace investigations, and compliance audits.
• Experience supporting large, matrixed, multinational, or high-growth organizations.
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical guidance for business leaders.
