Staff Full Stack Engineer (AI)

Location: New York City, New York; hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office

Base pay: $220,000–$260,000 per year for New York candidates. The position is also eligible for an equity plan.

What you will do

• Lead complex, multi-team engineering initiatives from concept through production.
• Set technical direction across architecture, system design, engineering practices, and platform scalability.
• Establish effective workflows for AI-assisted development using tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.
• Define standards for correctness, security, performance, maintainability, and code review quality.
• Partner with product, design, and quality to define technical requirements and customer-focused solutions.
• Improve platform reliability, performance, and engineering efficiency while mentoring engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and pairing.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including full-stack development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Expertise building scalable web application backends with Ruby on Rails, Flask, Node, or similar technologies.
• Advanced frontend experience with React, Angular, Vue, or similar technologies.
• Production experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code, including driving adoption across an engineering team.
• Experience leading complex cross-team initiatives, making architectural decisions, and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating LLM APIs or building AI workflows in production.
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or AWS.
• Background in high-growth SaaS.
• Interest in commercial real estate or fintech.
