IMM Discovery Intern - La Jolla (Immunology)

Location: La Jolla, California, United States; hybrid for non-lab-based work with three days onsite and two days remote per week

Salary: $23.50–$52.50 per hour

What you will do

• Design and execute experimental or computational analyses for an active immunology discovery project.
• Investigate disease biology, therapeutic targets, mechanisms of action, and novel technology platforms.
• Collect data, maintain experimental records, interpret results, and prepare written and oral reports.
• Collaborate in department, cross-functional, and global matrixed team meetings.
• Review scientific literature and emerging technologies while shadowing key functional roles.
• Prepare and present an abstract or poster at an organization-wide research symposium.

Requirements

• Permanently authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college throughout the internship and must not graduate before, during, or after the program.
• Undergraduate students must have completed at least six semesters or equivalent quarters at program start; eligible graduate degrees include master’s, PharmD, Physician Assistant, PhD, and related clinical programs.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and enrollment in biology, cell or molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, clinical pharmacology, computational biology, precision medicine, or a related field.
• Available to work full time, 40 hours per week, for the entire internship; fluent written and spoken English required.
• Strong organizational, communication, presentation, collaboration, leadership, and project-management skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft business tools and Slack.

Nice to have

• Leadership or participation in campus and service programs.
• Experience with ELISA, PCR, DNA sequencing, flow cytometry, cell culture, cell-based functional assays, or single-cell RNA sequencing analysis.
