Postdoctoral Research Fellow (BioMedicine Design)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; on-premise work required. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Annual base salary: $64,600–$107,600, plus eligibility for a 7.5% bonus target.

What you will do

• Develop a next-generation T cell engager designed to improve tumor selectivity and reduce on-target, off-tumor toxicity.
• Design and produce molecular constructs to investigate biology and mechanisms of action.
• Develop and use cell-based assays to test hypotheses and screen and rank molecules.
• Conduct literature research, identify knowledge gaps, and form experimentally testable hypotheses.
• Communicate results at internal meetings and make data-driven decisions about research direction.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams to discover and optimize novel therapeutics.

Requirements

• PhD in cancer biology, immunology, molecular or cellular biology, biochemistry, chemical and biomolecular engineering, or a related discipline.
• Two letters of recommendation are required, including one from a PI and one from an additional professor.
• Commitment to a fixed-term, full-time postdoctoral fellowship lasting 2–4 years, with less than two years of postdoctoral experience.
• At least one first-author scientific research article in a high-quality specialty or general readership journal.
• Experience with molecular and cell biology techniques, including construct design, molecular cloning, recombinant protein expression and purification, mammalian cell culture, cell line engineering, transfection, cell-based assays, and flow cytometry.
• Strong data analysis, planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, written, and oral communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with antibody discovery, protein engineering, or display technologies such as yeast or phage display.
• Experience with bispecific antibodies or T cell engagers.
