Senior Scientist, In Vivo Pharmacology (Biotech)

What you will do

• Design, execute, and interpret in vivo studies assessing the efficacy, safety, pharmacology, biodistribution, persistence, and mechanism of action of iPSC-derived thymic cell products.
• Develop and refine mouse models for immune reconstitution, immunosenescence, aging, and immune tolerance.
• Investigate thymic regeneration, T-cell development, immune tolerance, and immunosenescence using cellular and molecular approaches.
• Implement immune profiling and functional assays, including flow cytometry, RNA sequencing, T-cell activation, cytotoxicity, and mixed lymphocyte reaction assays.
• Collaborate with iPSC Research, Process Development, Analytical Development, Research, and Regulatory teams to evaluate product attributes and support candidate selection.
• Generate study reports, communicate findings to project teams and senior leadership, maintain data integrity, assess emerging literature, and mentor junior scientists and interns.

Requirements

• PhD in immunology, stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience developing preclinical models and designing and executing in vivo mouse studies.
• Strong knowledge of immunology, thymus biology, T-cell development, immune reconstitution, and immune tolerance.
• Hands-on experience with rodent handling, tissue collection and dissection, multiple administration routes, primary human and murine cell culture, and immunological assay development.
• Proficiency in multicolor flow cytometry, qPCR or ddPCR, histology, ELISA or MSD, statistical analysis, and troubleshooting experimental variability.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with occasional weekend work.

Nice to have

• Experience with nonclinical development, IND-enabling studies, regulatory authoring, proof-of-concept, pharmacology, mechanism-of-action, or translational science.
• Knowledge of immunosenescence, age-related immune dysfunction, tumor immunology, autoimmunity, and transplantation immunology or tolerance.
• Scientific publications or intellectual property contributions.
