Device Firmware Engineer, Fleet Migration (C/C++)

Location: Full-time, on-site at the Sunnyvale, California headquarters

Base salary: $160,000–$190,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Lead the phased migration of Signals device firmware from a third-party vendor to internal ownership.
• Partner with the vendor during the handoff to document the firmware design and update mechanisms.
• Build the internal firmware build and signing pipeline.
• Partner with Engineering Services on unified OTA delivery across the device fleet.
• Establish firmware release, version control, and rollback processes.

Requirements

• 7+ years of embedded firmware engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with device firmware migration or OEM-to-internal handoffs.
• Strong C/C++ and embedded Linux experience.
• Experience with OTA update mechanisms, secure boot, and firmware signing.
• Demonstrated ownership of production fleet firmware.
• Ability to work full-time on-site in Sunnyvale, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with IoT or security device fleets.
• Experience defining cross-product firmware standards for multiple device lines.
• Familiarity with vendor-to-internal codebase transitions.
