Senior Onboard Infrastructure (C++)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; office-based role supporting autonomous truck testing and deployment.

Salary: $155,000–$215,000 USD base salary annually for the SF/Silicon Valley location, plus equity, bonuses, and benefits.

What you will do

• Integrate autonomy hardware with vehicle platforms for new products.
• Test vehicle actuation systems and enable new vehicles to move autonomously.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to build the real-time operating system powering autonomous trucks.
• Design and implement core infrastructure and libraries in modern C++.
• Build reliable compute and network systems for onboard vehicle operations.
• Collect metrics to analyze and optimize autonomous-system performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience building software connected to hardware.
• Proficiency in modern C++.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN.
• Experience developing and debugging complex software on Linux.
• Eligibility for certain sensitive roles may depend on residence, U.S. person status, citizenship status, export controls, or national-security restrictions.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of control systems and safety and performance evaluation.
• Experience with Bazel on large cross-platform projects.
• Experience building on bare-metal or RTOS platforms.
• Familiarity with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262.
