Device Firmware Engineer, Fleet Migration (IoT)

Location: Full-time, onsite at Sunnyvale HQ in Sunnyvale, California, United States

Base salary: $160,000–$190,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Complete the phased migration of Signals device firmware from vendor ownership to internal ownership.
• Own the firmware layer end to end with a paired engineer.
• Provide on-call coverage and redundancy for the firmware layer.
• Partner with Engineering Services on unified over-the-air firmware delivery.
• Contribute to firmware release processes, version control, and rollback discipline.
• Participate in cross-product firmware standards through the Center of Engineering Excellence.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in embedded firmware engineering.
• Strong experience with C/C++ and embedded Linux systems.
• Experience with OTA update mechanisms and production fleet firmware.
• Comfort joining an in-flight migration and working in an established codebase.
• Ability to work full-time onsite at the Sunnyvale headquarters.

Nice to have

• Experience with IoT or security device fleets.
• Experience establishing multi-product firmware standards.
• Previous work transitioning vendor-owned codebases to internal ownership.
