Mission Systems Software Engineer (Aerospace/Robotics)

Location: Mountain View, California, or remote within the United States. Must be willing to travel 10% of the time. The role involves access to U.S. export-controlled information and requires documentation establishing U.S. person or non-U.S. person status and applicable authorization.

Estimated base salary: $160,000–$200,000 for Mountain View; $140,000–$190,000 for remote positions, plus equity.

What you will do

• Define architecture for airborne, ground, and cloud systems supporting aircraft communications, fleet operations, and data management.
• Develop, debug, and deploy software across embedded systems, Linux platform software, and application layers.
• Build and maintain software products running across aircraft, control centers, and cloud environments.
• Integrate complex third-party hardware and software into the autonomy platform.
• Improve the performance and reliability of systems used daily in research, development, and production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of systems-level programming experience with Rust and/or C++.
• Experience deploying and operating software in production environments.
• Experience with Linux production systems, including networking, containerization, and profiling or performance management.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure and services, networking concepts, or software driving hardware systems.
• Ability to satisfy U.S. export-control access requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems and messaging protocols.
• Fluency with UDP/IP, NAT, sockets, and routing.
