EHS Engineer (Environmental Health and Safety)

Location: London, Ontario, Canada; onsite plant-based role. Travel may include up to 10% domestic and international travel. Relocation to Canada may be authorized.

Expected compensation: CAD 86,539–114,232 annually, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Participate in plant safety improvement projects involving lockout/tagout, machine guarding, powered industrial vehicle safety, and related areas.
• Lead incident investigations using formal investigation methods and hirify.global reporting systems.
• Ensure environmental compliance through sampling, reporting, and employee awareness programs.
• Support plant leadership with site safety performance and environmental compliance reporting.
• Manage employee health initiatives covering hearing conservation, personal protective equipment, air sampling, and ergonomics.
• Work with engineering and maintenance teams on fire protection, ventilation, spill containment, facility management, and EHS training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or a related science discipline.
• At least three years of experience with EHS programs and procedures in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Current, valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work at the London, Ontario plant and travel domestically and internationally as required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related discipline.
• Professional safety certification such as CRSP.
• Working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Experience leading EHS improvement projects and implementing safety procedures with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
