Process Development Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Scarborough, Ontario, Canada; based at the Toronto facility

Salary: $85,000–$105,000 CAD per year, based on experience

What you will do

• Design and execute experiments to develop and optimize chemical manufacturing processes.
• Develop process understanding through data analysis, engineering fundamentals, and modelling software such as Aspen and Visimix.
• Lead scale-up activities from laboratory to pilot and manufacturing environments.
• Identify process risks, troubleshoot development and production issues, and support process robustness studies.
• Develop process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mass balances, energy balances, control strategies, and operating windows.
• Define equipment requirements, support equipment selection, and participate in commissioning, qualification, startup, and technology transfer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 3–8+ years of experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing.
• Experience with pilot plant operations and chemical processing equipment.
• Strong data analysis, modelling, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with process safety methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
