Software Engineer III - Generative AI Technology

Location: Hybrid role based in Boston, Massachusetts, or Toronto, Ontario, Canada; requires working in the office three times per week and scheduled collaboration at the Boston office up to four times per year. Core hours are 9am–5pm EST.

Annual base pay: CAD 192,047–CAD 211,914, varying by location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional equity, bonuses, commissions, and benefits may apply.

What you will do

• Own technical decisions across multiple components of the generative visual systems and existing codebase.
• Design and deploy scalable, resilient microservices integrating external APIs and internal machine learning models.
• Build frameworks and self-service environments for automated content pipelines and digital artists.
• Containerize applications with Docker and manage services in Kubernetes, including pods, services, ConfigMaps, and secrets.
• Improve system patterns, solve ambiguous technical problems, and deliver measurable impact across the team and pod.
• Collaborate with product management, experience design, analytics, and adjacent engineering teams.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience fine-tuning or serving large models such as LLMs or diffusion models and working with machine learning service APIs.
• Strong Python skills and understanding of cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience consuming and exposing REST or GraphQL APIs, including OAuth, API keys, or JWT authentication.
• Experience with unit and integration testing, CI/CD, production monitoring, data preprocessing, and structured and unstructured data such as images, text, and video.
• Proficiency with React, interactive UI development, frontend state management, and data storage technologies such as GCS, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, or MongoDB.

Nice to have

• Model optimization or quantization, model lifecycle management, and GPU-enabled workloads.
• DevOps experience with Terraform, Helm, or ArgoCD.
• Experience with 3D content pipelines, including architectural visualization, games, or VFX workflows.
• Experience building React interfaces for machine learning tools with secure backend API and authentication integration.
