Principal/Senior Software Engineer, Agentic UX (AI)

Location: Pleasanton, California, USA; hybrid Flex Work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Annual base salary: $246,000–$370,000 USD for the primary location; additional US locations: $206,000–$370,000 USD

What you will do

• Design and deliver conversational and agentic AI experiences with seamless user interactions and thoughtful workflows.
• Connect agent capabilities and reasoning to clear, usable interfaces across hirify.global products.
• Own features end to end in collaboration with AI engineers, software engineers, product managers, and designers.
• Build scalable and reliable systems that simplify complex business processes.
• Share knowledge, mentor teammates, and raise the technical bar across the engineering pod.

Requirements

• For the Principal level: 12+ years of software engineering experience, 7+ years with TypeScript/React or Python/FastAPI, 3+ years building conversational or agentic AI applications, and 5+ years leading projects or teams.
• For the Senior level: 8+ years of software engineering experience, 5+ years with TypeScript/React or Python/FastAPI, and 2+ years building conversational or agentic AI applications.
• Experience collaborating with product designers or a portfolio demonstrating high-quality UX/UI principles.
• Experience building and operating SaaS products in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, Docker, Kubernetes, and Elasticsearch.
• Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, agile delivery, and ability to translate ambiguous problems into clear solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java for backend development and TypeScript for frontend or full-stack development.
• Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments and contributing to inclusive, team-oriented cultures.
