Security Engineer

Location: Hybrid role requiring work at the Cottonwood Heights office in Salt Lake City, Utah, two days per week. Work sponsorship, including OPT, STEM-OPT, and H-1B sponsorship, is not available.

hirify.global is hiring for a security engineering position supporting company IT systems, applications, and data.

What you will do

• Conduct security reviews with security engineering and IT teams, recommend hardening measures, and implement security controls across IT assets.
• Monitor emerging threats and threat intelligence, applying solutions that strengthen the security posture.
• Administer and tune endpoint and email security tools for threat prevention, detection, and response.
• Support vulnerability management across on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including identification, tracking, and remediation.
• Participate in security incident response and the on-call rotation for supported infrastructure and applications.
• Develop security standards, runbooks, technical documentation, and security awareness initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Technology or a similar field.
• 2–4 years of experience in software development, IT systems administration, and/or cybersecurity.
• Understanding of firewalls, SIEM, antivirus, and IDS/IPS concepts.
• Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain prevention measures.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work from the Cottonwood Heights office in Salt Lake City two days per week; work sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• CompTIA Security+ or CySA+ certification.
• ISC2 SSCP or CISSP certification.
• AWS cloud or security certification.
