Product Manager – Material Management/Plant Support (Structural Adhesives)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States. On-site work involving the laboratory and manufacturing floor.

What you will do

• Manage recipe entry, edits, maintenance, material extensions, raw material approvals, and documentation in SAP or similar systems.
• Conduct laboratory cooks and optimize materials and processes for PF, MF, and UF structural adhesive resins.
• Review recipes, troubleshoot plant operations, and provide technical guidance to production, quality, and engineering stakeholders.
• Drive process optimization, monitor quality metrics, coordinate rework, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support incident investigations through data gathering, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain chemical inventory, safe handling, housekeeping, PPE use, and compliance with applicable industry and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, material management, and structural adhesive technology.
• Proficiency with data entry and computer systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently, follow detailed procedures, communicate effectively, and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to stand, walk, and work on the laboratory and manufacturing floor for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs with appropriate assistance.
• Ability to handle laboratory equipment and materials safely and wear a respirator and other required PPE.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience synthesizing and characterizing formaldehyde resins using DSC, DMA, and rheology.
• Experience in adhesives, chemicals, materials, or structural wood product applications.
• Experience leading or mentoring technical teams and knowledge of EH&S regulations.
