Senior Architect

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, USA; hybrid work mode with three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Execute all phases of complex architectural projects, including programming, planning, concept development, detailed design, and construction administration.
• Develop code analyses, life safety and egress plans, drawings, schedules, specifications, studies, presentations, and reports.
• Apply International Building Code and other regulatory requirements to project delivery.
• Coordinate constructible designs with engineering, construction, estimating, clients, and other project stakeholders.
• Lead document quality checks, resolve complex code and design challenges, and support project planning, budgets, schedules, and scope.
• Act as Architect of Record when assigned, provide architectural training, and mentor architectural staff.

Requirements

• Accredited professional degree in Architecture, such as B.Arch, M.Arch, or D.Arch, or an equivalent Canadian or international degree.
• Architectural license in good standing in the home state, with the ability to obtain reciprocal licensure through NCARB.
• 10+ years of professional experience in an architectural, engineering, or construction firm.
• Extensive knowledge of International Building Codes, OSHA Regulations, and ADA Standards.
• Experience coordinating and executing cross-disciplinary projects and developing complete construction documents and specifications for complex projects.
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Leadership experience in life sciences or food and beverage projects.
• Experience with master planning and facility assessments.
• LEED Accreditation, WELL Certification, or similar sustainability credentials.
• Expertise in R&D laboratories, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food and nutrition, consumer products, or international projects.
• Flexibility for moderate project-related or training travel.
