Director, Strategy & Operations (Technology)

Location: Hybrid, with on-site presence 2–3 days per week in Palo Alto, CA, or Bethesda, MD

Annual salary: $153,750–$256,250

What you will do

• Lead technology-wide culture, engagement, change management, talent resource management, and operational support teams.
• Design and improve operating rhythms and high-performance culture programs across the Technology organization.
• Set strategy and drive execution for the Technology return-to-office program, including operational readiness and change coordination.
• Oversee centralized executive assistant support for Application Engineering/Product, Design, AI, Strategy, Analytics, and Operations.
• Establish performance frameworks, governance, and decision-making mechanisms for major Technology initiatives.
• Partner with Business, HR, Finance, Communications, Risk and Compliance, Real Estate, and other stakeholders to improve delivery effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 10 years of experience in product, project, change management, strategy, or operations roles.
• At least 5 years of experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex initiatives.
• At least 3 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
• Strong understanding of project management, technology development, operating models, and organizational operating cadences.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, analytical, and senior stakeholder influence skills.

Nice to have

• Experience advising senior executives and establishing governance for enterprise-scale initiatives.
• Experience leading enterprise transformation, workforce, workplace, or operating model initiatives.
• Lean Six Sigma, PMP, CPM, CSPO, Design Thinking, or Leadership and Management certification.
