MBSE Engineer (III to Senior), Space & Missile Defense Systems

Location: Successful candidates must be located near Denver, Colorado, or Long Beach, California, United States. The role supports classified programs and requires compliance with U.S. Government ITAR regulations.

Base salary: Level III — $105,000–$160,000 annually; Senior — $130,000–$195,000 annually, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and governance for Cameo and SysML-based system models.
• Develop, maintain, and integrate MBSE artifacts for space systems, spacecraft, satellites, and missile defense systems.
• Model requirements, traceability, functional and logical architectures, interfaces, system decomposition, verification, and validation.
• Support systems-of-systems engineering, digital thread architecture, and integration with Teamcenter, Jama, NX CAD, and other lifecycle data systems.
• Develop and deploy systems engineering processes and MBSE workflows in Agile environments.
• Support classified programs, proposals, technical reviews, customer engagements, and configuration management activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 5 years of direct Cameo modeling experience with strong knowledge of SysML, MBSE, digital engineering, and systems-of-systems engineering.
• Experience with Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Cameo Simulation Toolkit, or similar system modeling tools.
• Experience with systems engineering for aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, missile systems, threat systems, kill vehicles, ground stations, or missile defense systems.
• Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related engineering or technical field.
• DoD program experience and familiarity with DoDI 5000.97, DoD MBSE guidance, AFSIM, or SpaceDEN.
• Experience with digital twins, digital thread architectures, Teamcenter PLM, reliability engineering, predictive analytics, or probabilistic modeling.
• Programming experience with Python or C++, and experience applying AI or machine learning.
• Active Top Secret clearance, Lockheed Martin Systems Engineering Bootcamp training, or participation in relevant industry standards organizations.
