Senior GNC Engineer (Spacecraft ADCS)

Location: San Jose, California, United States. Salary: $155,000–$231,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and implement spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control architectures and algorithms in embedded C++.
• Define requirements for ADCS algorithms, hardware, and related systems across current missions and future product roadmaps.
• Analyze and simulate mission-specific GNC performance.
• Collaborate on ground-processing algorithms for sensor calibration and an offline geolocation processing pipeline.
• Plan, execute, and validate software- and hardware-in-the-loop testing, and support anomaly resolution for on-orbit systems, including on-call duties.
• Lead technical efforts and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent hands-on GNC analysis and design experience, with 5+ years of professional experience where applicable.
• Professional C++ software development skills.
• Knowledge of control and optimization theory.
• Expertise with Python, Julia, or MATLAB for numerical programming.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and implementing spacecraft ADCS/GNC subsystems.
• Strong communication, presentation, coordination, and systems-thinking skills.

Nice to have

• Control stability analysis experience with flexible bodies.
• Experience with ADCS for precision-pointing platforms.
• Spacecraft flight-operations experience.
