Senior Requirements Engineer (MBSE)

Salary: $82,300–$220,000 base salary per year

What you will do

• Translate mission, customer, and system-level goals into clear, measurable, verifiable requirements.
• Build and maintain requirements traceability across architecture, design, testing, and assessment artifacts.
• Create SysML and MagicDraw models covering requirements, interfaces, architectures, digital twins, and digital threads.
• Lead trade-space analyses, formal and informal assessments, technical evaluations, and design improvement recommendations.
• Develop Python tools and workflows for requirements analysis, validation, and cross-domain data processing.
• Lead small technical teams, manage scope and risks, communicate with stakeholders, and mentor less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 5–10 years of systems engineering experience with an emphasis on requirements engineering.
• Practical experience with systems engineering processes and proficiency in MBSE tools, SysML, MagicDraw, and trade-space analysis.
• Strong Python programming skills for data and workflow automation.
• Ability to lead small teams, mentor engineers, manage technical risks, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
• Must obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with modeling and simulation, STPA, DOORS, or other engineering analysis tools.
• Knowledge of guidance, navigation and control, avionics architectures, fault tolerance, cybersecurity, communications, or encryption.
